最近 読んだ洋書のタイトルは Ask More（より多く問う）です。本ホームページに載せてある Ask More, Learn More と被るところに、魅力を感じ、購入しました。著者は CNN などの報道機関でトークショーのホストを務め、政治家を含むさまざま要人のインタービューを行なってきた、有名なジャーナリストです。３０年以上に渡るインタビューアーとしての経験を通して質問することの大切を書いている本です。
前回のブログで「正しい問いを立てる」(Asking the right question)に言葉をよく見かけると書きましたが、この本でもその（ような）表現が頻繁に出てきます。それらを紹介します。
"The right question at the right moment can even influence history." (p. xvii)
「適切な瞬間の正しい問いは歴史に影響を与えることさえある。」（拙訳）
"Questions - asked the right way, under the right circumstances - can help you achieve both short-term and lifelong goals." (p.1)
「問いは、ー適切な状況下、適切な方法で立てられたならば、ー 短期間のみならず生涯に渡る目標を達成することに役立つ。」（拙訳）
"If you've ever confronted something that's gone wrong, with time running out, you know that asking the right questions can make the difference..." (p.4)
「仮に何か具合の悪いことに直面し、それも時間切れになりかけてる時、正しい問いを立てることで（状況が）違ってくることがある。」（拙訳）
（病気の際に）

以上の様々な文から、ask the right question （正しい問いを立てる）ことを念頭に問うことが大切であることがわかります。
